I'm very bored right now, so I decided to make a post about some songs I'm currently listening to and songs that I love. Now, at this moment, I have no idea what I'm going to put, so don't judge me if quite a few of them ending up being from Glee.

Back to Black

Okay, first of all, I love this song. I think Naya Rivera is a fantastic singer, and I love her voice. I also like the original Amy Winehouse version, so I posted that as well. In general, I don't like the sound of Amy Winehouse's voice, but I did like this song. Just not as much as the Glee version.

Someone Like You

This is probably my favorite of the Adele songs I've heard. I just absolutely love this song. Not to mention, this is one of the few songs I can actually sing without sounding too awful. (You see, I'm kind of weird in that I can't sing as low as an alto or as high as a soprano.)

He Won't Go

Another fabulous Adele song.

Best Thing I Never Had

A pretty good Beyonce song I just found a few days ago. By the way, sorry, the only good video I could find was the Vevo one, so there might be an advertisement.

Yes, another Glee song. But this is one of my favorite Glee songs of all time! It was also sung by Santana. Also, I posted the original song by The Zutons because I love it, too.

Speechless

I love nearly all of Lady Gaga's songs, but this one has to be one of my absolute favorites. It's not as elaborate and big and theatrical as some of her other songs.

Another amazing Lady Gaga song. I was going to post the Alex Goot cover, as well, because it's just incredible, but it appears he may have taken it off of YouTube. *insert sad face*

For Good (Glee cover)

I suppose, since you all know I'm such a Gleek, that I will post this song just because it's absolutely breathtaking. Their voices are so good and sound incredible together. I actually cried when they performed this on the show, I'm not going to lie. It's not necessarily my favorite song, but they just sound so good together!

The Hunger Games Movie

Everyone look to the bottom of my blog! There is now an awesome countdown widget for The Hunger Games, the movie! I'm so excited for this movie! I'm disappointed with a couple of the casting choices, and I know that there is absolutely know way to truly, completely capture the book in a movie, but this is my favorite book series aside from Harry Potter. The Hunger Games was incredible, and I'm really excited to see what they do with the movie. It has the potential to be a pretty great movie, so I hope they work very hard to achieve that.

Ramblings

Okay, I have to post about something because the video below was too big and covering up my blog links, so... time for a ramble!

Well, first of all, there isn't really that much going on in my life right now. The spring play at our school is Twelve Angry Jurors, and I kind of wish I had at least auditioned for it. Oh, well, there's always next year when I have to audition for every play! It's a requirement for theatre II.

Hmm... Without much else to say, I'll share a poem with you. A little history on it first, though. We have to write a poetry book for English class, and we are required to write certain kinds of poems. So, for one page we had to write two quatrains, and I must say this quatrain is certainly the best poem I've written yet. So, without further ado, here it is:

It's basically a sequel to our "horror" movie from about three-and-a-half years ago, except it will be MUCH better. For poll number 1:
The question was would you rather be named 1) Albus Severus, 2) Renesmee Carlie, or 3) Bertha.

The results: 50% for Albus Severus, 50% for Renesmee Carlie, and 0 votes for Bertha. C'mon guys, no Bertha? Bertie? Bert? B-dawg? Well, okay then...

I personally voted Renesmee Carlie. Now, don't worry, I know it's possibly the most ridiculous name ever, but I reasoned that at least I could have people call me Carlie, a pretty normal name, and FORBID anyone to even acknowledge my true first name. With Albus Severus, you're kind of stuck. I think if that were my name, I'd just make people call me Sarg.

The question was to be or not to be. The choices were to be, not to be, and ...... for those who were totally clueless, which fortunately turned out to be no one.

High School

As many probably know, I started high school this fall. Or should I say, summer claiming to be fall. Because it's super hot. Anyway.

Here is my schedule:

(Virtual) Biology 1 H with Mr. Ball
Algebra 1 H with Mr. Kazel
Theatre 1 with Mrs. Lee
Lunch
English 1 H with Ms. Spurlock
Spanish 1 with Sr. Sayward
Dance 1 with Mrs. Lee (again)

I only just finished the third week, so I may not be the best judge, but so far, it doesn't seem so bad. The classes aren't hard as long as you keep up with the work.

My favorite class is probably Theatre. So far we have been playing these games to help us be more open and trust each other more and work on observation and concentration. And I'm really excited to see what else we will be doing throughout the rest of the year.

But what I love most about the class is that I've been learning to be more open and not feel stupid or like people are judging me. Now, instead of feeling terrified or nervous, I try to just go for whatever Mrs. Lee throws at us and do the best I can. And I know now that other people feel just as silly as I do doing that stuff, but it's okay because no one cares. Now, we just have fun, and I look forward to Theatre every day.

I have also decided to do more extracurricular activities this year. I joined the school's Drama Club, and of course, I volunteer one day a week at the hospital's LTCC. I want to go in someday and see if I can volunteer at the library. Also, on Monday, I'm going to go see Mrs. Lee and ask if there's anything I can do to help with the fall play (which is A Midsummer Night's Dream. Unfortunately, I didn't audition, but I'll definitely audition for the next two plays, so we'll see how that goes.). That's also good to do because I have to do Theatre related things to earn points for Drama Club. There are a few other clubs I want to look into, but I haven't heard anything about them yet.

On different note, I have lost faith in bird-kind. I have always been freaked out by birds with their freaky faces and eyes and their disgusting germy-ness. But reading "The Birds" by Daphne du Maurier in English was the last straw. (If you haven't heard of this story, Alfred Hitchcock apparently made a movie based on it, so maybe you'll recognize that.) Basically, it's about birds of all different species grouping together and attacking and taking over mankind in the British Isles (or maybe all of the world. I don't really know, the story was a tad vague.). It was weird and mysterious and creepy and I am officially terrified of birds now. So, yeah.

Italy...

Italy is somewhere I desperately want to go someday. I want to go many other places too, of course, but for now I'll talk about this one. Doesn't it sound like it would be so fun and interesting to go to Italy? There are so many places you could go to and it's such a historical place. Venice, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italian food, which is my favorite. And, hello! Italian guys... ;D

When I went to Epcot Center in June with Grammy, the Italy section was one I particularly enjoyed, and we stopped in a beautiful Italian restaurant to eat lunch. We both had lasagna, and it had to be the BEST lasanga I had ever tasted!

I wish I could tell you what it was called, but...the menu was in Italian and this dessert was about six words long, and when I ordered it, I had to point to it and say, "Uh...can I get...this thing, please?" Anyway, isn't so pretty? It was so good, too!

As you probably noticed, I have completely changed my blog, from the background to the name. I was getting tired of my, er, *catchy* old blog title, and of course, the background was from Valentine's Day. Anyway, since Ally is reading Goblet of Fire, I decided to use the title of Rita Skeeter's, uh, lovely news column. But I figure this blog is mostly about what's going on with me and my family, so...it fits. Also, I created the header myself on MS Paint. And that would be about the limit of my artistic talent. The background was actually not my number one choice, but it seemed to match the header best. Well, I guess that's about it for the blog makeover. Oh! And I will be keeping the web address the same, so as not to cause any complications. But, oh, how I despise that address.

I'm still mostly avoiding updating my blog, but I really despise coming on here and seeing that stupid post that I... posted... And anyway, I don't really have much to post about, so here's my school schedule.

Period 1- Health, Craft (Poor Mrs. Craft was absent for two weeks with Swine Flu that turned into pneumonia.)

Period 2- Algebra 1 Honors, Campbell (Easier than I anticipated)

Period 3- English 8 Acc, Dudley-Olsen (Again. Yay! I love her.)

Lunch

Period 4- World Geography, Jacot (Awesome. Just awesome. I love this subject, and the teacher. She rocks. I probably like her more than Mrs. D-O.)

Period 5- Science, Letourneau (He tells weird, yet funny stories about his life. Only, our 'science' room is the old broadcasting room, and apparently the old wood-shop room back in my mother's day. And we don't have any science equipment except our textbooks. Yeah, in that aspect, I wish I had Ms. Traynor. She's pretty awesome too. We learned our sign language from her in choir last year.)

Period 6- Choir, Barlow (Pretty cool. Except the fact that I dread going there each and every day. Okay, not really, but I have a tendency to feel drowsy in her room, sometimes from tiredness, sometimes from boredness. But, on the bright side, we have risers in our lovely portable now!)

Catching Fire! The sequel to The Hunger Games. I am so excited! I completely forgot that it was coming out in September of 2009. Apparently September 1, 2009. Anyway, it is super exciting. I loved The Hunger Games, and Suzanne Collins kind of ended it with a cliffhanger. Now, I just wonder when the last book is coming out (it's a trilogy).....

Yo. I just called Maddie's house to ask her something, and Becca was there, and she said Maddie was trying to kill her. So...........yeah, that was weird. Then she said she wanted to talk to me, so we talked, and she said I had to post on my blog. Guess what? In history, we are learning about World War II and it is very interesting. It's my favorite war to learn about. Also, guess what else? On my account on this computer (we have like seven working computers, and probably a few nonworking ones), I have a folder in my documents called My Works, and it's where I keep all my works. For example, I have a lovely picture of Jacob Black that I drew myself, and I think it's very awesome. I'll have to see if I can get it on here sometime. Also, I have documentations of ideas for stories, pictures I draw on paint, and other stuff. It sounds weird, but going on there always makes me happy because it's like a whole little place of things that I created! It's awesome!!! Now for some pictures, because my post "couldn't be just like three sentences, it had to be the whole shebang!!!" Wait!!! I just went to add a picture, and I discovered that THERE IS A WAY TO PUT IT ON HERE!!!!!!! So instead of having actual photographs, Becca, you will get some hand (mouse?) drawn pictures. I hope it's good enough. (BTW, the titles I shall write are actually what they are titled in my folder!)

So, I'm starting to really get into the whole Harry Potter thing again, and that will explain the polls. I told myself, "Now Self, you can't go and see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince unless you've completed the book." Yeah, I never actually read that one, I skimmed through it and read parts that looked interesting. I'm sorry! But it just got boring to me on like chapter two, so yeah. Anyway, but then I decided that I didn't want to just read that one out of the blue, so I made another decision. I am going to read the whole series over again! And I'd better get crackin' on that if I want to be done with the sixth one by midnight, July 17! So, bye!

Last week or so, I went to my friend Taylor's house to work on history homework. When we were done she said I should just stay till she had to leave for tennis. Then we went on the computer and voila! Fred came into my life! Fred is these videos that this fifteen-year-old kid does where he acts like a six-year-old named Fred. Fred is "a lonely six-year-old with anger management problems, an alcoholic mom, and dad who is in prison, who begins to post videos on youtube". If you ever have the time, I recommend going to his channel and watching them all in order because sometimes there is a plot line that actually runs through two or three episodes. All you have to do is go to youtube.com, and his channel is usually the first item. If you click on it, and it goes to another website, you're most likely there. Better yet, how about I just stop being lazy and go find the URL. Well, I'm making changes on my blog at 11:47 P.M. I'm pretty tired so let me tell you what has been going on around here. May 29, 2008 was my 12th birthday. I got to go to a murder mystery dinner on my b-day which was pretty cool. School got out on June fourth. YAY! I've been having a pretty good summer. We went to Disleyland with Aunt Lori, Uncle Robert and their kids! It was awesome! Today was Ally's birthday. She turned ten.

I love my cats so much. They are the sweetest, most adorable cats in the world. I love it when Crookie comes in my room at night to sleep by his best Julie buddy.I also love how every time you go into the hallway, Witty thinks you're going upstairs to feed him. Even if he already has food!!!! I love how Johnny gets excited when you let him out of his closet. Our cats are the best cats in the world and there could be no animals that are better than them.

Yesterday, Johnny was wretling with Crookie and all of a sudden we heard him yelp and meow like crazy. My dad said "I think he's hurt". And sure enough, when he touched his right hind leg, he started making a loud meowing noise, so he set him down and he wouldn't walk on that leg. We took him to animal emergency hospital in Henderson because we thought it was broken. We had to wait there for THREE HOURS before we could finally go home, which was unfortunate because we were about to go swimming. They think it might just be a sprain, but we are supposed to wait and see if he is still limping tomorrow. POOR BABY BOY!!!!!!!!!!!! :(:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Hi people. Sorry I haven't been posting that often. As you can see I've changed my blog template to match the month. Lately I have been reading the Underland Chronicles. That is a series of five books about a kid named Gregor sho discovers a land miles beneath the surface of the earth called the Underland. It's pretty awesome. Of course I've already read them, but I wanted to read them again. I finished the second one in about two and a half days. Now I'm already on part two of the third one (they all have three parts and exactly 27 chapters each) and I only started after shcool yesterday. They're pretty awesome. In fact, they are so SUPER awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Goodbye.

Sorry I haven't posted but I went to Catalina and when I came home I found out that my baby (guinea pig) of two and a half years had died of pneumonia. :(:::::::::: I have been crying on and off again for the past two and a half days. I feel awful now because I know that without my dad there to take care of her she would have died a lot sooner. I wish I had had a chance to say goodbye to her before she died, but stupidly on the day I left I left without saying goodbye to my pets and I only shouted goodbye to my parents on my way out the door. The only one i said a real goodbye to was Ally. I have learned an important lesson from all of this: always say goodbye to everyone in your house, including pets, before leaving for somewhere. Even if it means being late. I have sort of been blaming myself for this even though deep down I know I couldn't have prevented this from happening. But I could have at least said goodbye! I have to stop talking about this now as I am already sobbing. I love you Fuzzy and you will always be in my heart.

Sorry I haven't been poting as much lately. I have been really busy with school and everything. Well I started P.E. a few weeks ago. We just started getting dressed in our P.E. uniforms on Monday though. I don't really like it. Mostly because I hate P.E.

Well, I'm sick again. Well, actually, yesterday I was sick. I woke up with a sore throat but didn't feel sick other than that, so I went to school. But, as the day went on, my throat got worse. After school, I went to Maddie's house. Then while she went to ballet, Ally came over and read a story about Lou Gehrig. Then I fell asleep. After I woke up, my throat still hurt, and it kind of hurt to move. I felt awful, so I called my mom and asked her to pick me up. Then we went to 7 Eleven. I just got a popsicle. After I finished it, I took my temperature, and I had a small fever, so I took some medicine and went to sleep. Then I had to get up at 5 am to do my homework. Now my throat still hurts, but I feel pretty much better. Well, I have to finish getting ready for school now.

Ally has this friend named Teagan who lives right down the parking lot from us, and he came over wondering if Ally wanted to play with him. So then Teagan, Ally, and my dad started talking about Star Wars for some reason, and my dad brought out his light sabers (which, if you turn them on, they can light up and vibrate when you hit something). Of course, that's just one of them. The other one he has is awesomer because it can't be pushed in, and, although it doesn't vibrate when it hits something, it does make a crashing noise, and it makes a sound like air wooshing just when you move it. But Ally used the less cool one because Teagan said he had one just like it only red. So he went to go get it, and they started fighting with them. It was so funny I couldn't help but take pictures much to their displeasure:

"I'll kill you!"

Then Ally took a swing at his head,

and killed him.

Teagan returns! (And unfortunately kills Ally by stabbing her in the chest.)

And for some reason felt as though he had to slit her neck also.
